Bachelors in engineering have the following key competencies:
1) in native language
- is able to express and understand concepts, thoughts, feelings, facts and opinions in the field of mechanical engineering in written and oral forms (listening, speaking, reading and writing), and interact linguistically appropriately and creatively in all the diversity of social and cultural contexts: during studies, at work, at home and at leisure.
2) in foreign languages
- owns the basic communication skills in English: is able to understand, express and interpret concepts, facts and opinions both in the field of mechanical engineering in oral and in written form (listening, speaking, reading, writing) in a corresponding series of social and cultural contexts. Has the skills of mediation and intercultural understanding.
3) fundamental mathematical, natural scientific and technical training
- is able and ready to apply the educational potential, experience and personal qualities acquired during the study of mathematical, natural and technical disciplines in higher education, to determine the ways, to control and evaluate the solution of professional problems, the development of mathematical and natural-science thinking.
4) computer
- is able to confidently and critically use modern information technologies for work, leisure and communication, has the skills of using, restoring, evaluating, storing, producing, presenting and exchanging information through the computer, communicating and participating in collaborative networks using the Internet in the field of professional activities.

- possesses basic knowledge in the field of technical disciplines (sciences), contributing to the formation of a highly educated person with a broad outlook and a culture of thinking; realizes the need for constant training, can find available opportunities; is able to strive and persistently continue to learn.

Bachelors of engineering and technology for the educational program 5В071200 Mechanical Engineering own the following special competencies:
- is ready to participate in the design of new products in production in accordance with the latest achievements and requirements in the field of STPs;
- is able to assess the sufficiency of technological equipment, taking into account the technological, design, operational, aesthetic, economic and management parameters of the technological process;
- is able to apply methods to control the quality of products and objects in the field of professional activity, to analyze the causes of technological processes in engineering and to develop measures to prevent them.
Bachelors of engineering and technology on the educational trajectory "5В071201 Technology of machine building, metal-cutting machines and tools" have the following special competencies:
- is able to use modern information technology (Compass, Pro-Ingenier) in the design of engineering products, productions;
- is able to collect and analyze initial information data for the design of technological processes for the manufacture of engineering products, technological equipment, automation and management;
- is able to develop and apply design automation tools, introduce progressive technological processes, types of equipment and technological equipment, automation and mechanization means, optimal production modes for products and all kinds of differently complex jobs, ensuring the production of competitive products and reducing material and labor costs for its production;
- is able to develop technical tasks for the design of special equipment, tools and devices provided for by technology, technical specifications for the production of non-standard equipment, automation and mechanization equipment;
- is able to determine the order of work and the operational route for processing parts and assembling products;
Bachelors of engineering and technology on the educational trajectory «5В071202 Equipment and technology of welding production» own the following special competencies:
- is capable of developing and implementing progressive technological processes, types of equipment, automation and mechanization means, optimal production modes for products and all kinds of differently complex works, ensuring the production of competitive products and reducing material and labor costs for its production;
- is able to analyze and eliminate the causes of defects in welded joints and the causes of defects that arise in the manufacture of welded structures.
