M. Kozybayev Center for the Study of the Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Great Steppe

License No. 22011500 dated 06/28/2022 was issued by the NAO "M. Kozybayev NKU" to carry out scientific and restoration work on historical and cultural monuments and (or) archaeological work on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan


The main goal of the M. Kozybayev Center for the Study of the Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Great Steppe is to promote the development of historical science through the organization of archaeological research, to enhance the effectiveness of educational activities based on the university’s scientific potential, to involve faculty, staff, and students in research work, and to increase the competitiveness of scientific developments.

The main areas of activity of the Center are:

  1. Developing promising forms of scientific cooperation within the university, as well as with academic and educational centers, to jointly address research challenges and expand the practical application of the university’s scientific achievements.
  2. Organizing methodological and scientific collaboration with educational and research institutions abroad, participating in experience exchange, joint scientific studies, educational, consulting, and other partnership programs.
To achieve its objectives, the Center ensures the implementation of the following tasks:

  1. Conducting research on the genesis, development, and cultural interconnections of archaeological sites in the North Kazakhstan region.
  2. Studying the scientific contribution of Academician M.K. Kozybayev to the development of national historical science.
  3. Participating in grant competitions for conducting fundamental and applied research, as well as contributing to the implementation of the State Program “Rukhani Zhangyru.”
  4. Organizing conferences and symposia, internships, scholar exchanges, scientific and archaeological expeditions, exhibitions, and thematic meetings.
  5. Integrating the results of scientific research into the educational process.
