The Round Table “Abay's Book Of Words” Was Held at the Department of Foreign Languages
On November 27, 2025, the Department of Foreign Languages hosted a round table titled “Abaıdyń Qara Sözderi” / “The Words of Edification by Abai.” The event, dedicated to the legacy of the great Kazakh poet and philosopher Abai Kunanbayev, took place in Academic Building No. 4, with students of groups KYaL-25k-1-2 in attendance.
The round table was organized by senior lecturers L.Sh. Ismagambetova and A.K. Sautbayeva.
The purpose of the event was to promote Kazakh culture and language through Abai’s works, foster patriotism and respect for national traditions, and provide space for students’ creative self-expression.
The event opened with presentations by students Karligash Karataeva and Aina Kenes, who spoke about Abai’s life and creative path. They emphasized that the Qara Sözder remain deeply relevant today, offering timeless moral guidance for the younger generation. Their presentation included visual materials about Abai’s biography and musical pieces based on his poetry.
A highlight of the program was the performance of the kuy “Kenes” on the dombra by Aigerim Omarova, which added emotional depth and national color to the event.
Excerpts from Abai’s Words of Edification were presented in Kazakh and English by Karligash Karataeva, Aina Kenes, Alina Nauryzbayeva, and Anar Ekpin. A Russian reading was performed by Sabina Bayazit.
The event concluded with a collective performance of Abai’s well-known song “Kózimniń qarasy,” creating a warm and unifying atmosphere.
The round table became an important platform for cultural dialogue, creativity, and fostering students’ interest in Abai’s literary heritage.
