Kozybayev University's career guidance campaign continues to gain momentum. As part of this outreach initiative, a university delegation visited the Shal Akyn district, where they held meetings with local authorities and high school students. During the visit, 11th-grade students received comprehensive information about the university — the only higher education institution in the region — and learned about its academic programmes, career opportunities, and unique dual degree collaboration with the University of Arizona. They were introduced to the university's three-tiered educational system, wide range of specialisations, and prospects for employment after graduation.
“Meeting with school students across the North Kazakhstan Region has become a valued tradition for our university. Today, Kozybayev University is one of the largest and oldest regional universities in the country. It’s like a city within a city, with 12 academic buildings, 3 student residences, a one-of-a-kind observatory, and a swimming pool. One of our biggest highlights is the partnership with the University of Arizona. Across the country, there are currently 23 branches of international universities — designed to give you access to quality foreign education without leaving Kazakhstan. What's more, our students have the opportunity to spend a semester in the USA, with all expenses fully covered by us. The first group will go abroad next year. These joint programmes are grant-funded, and graduates receive two diplomas,” shared Yerbol Isakaev, Chairman of the Board and Rector of Kozybayev University, addressing the students.
Amir Agzamov, a current student of the dual degree programme, also spoke at the event, sharing his personal experience. Faculty representatives and staff from the Admissions and Recruitment Office presented detailed information about academic departments and the application process. The audience showed particular interest in interactive master classes on financial literacy and bullying prevention. Attendees had the chance to explore promotional materials about the university’s faculties and admissions procedures. The event attracted more than 160 students. A key highlight of the visit was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Kozybayev University and the Akimat (local administration) of the Shal Akyn district.
