As part of the visit of the Arizona (USA) delegation to the North Kazakhstan region, the guests visited Kozybayev University. They got acquainted with the research equipment of the educational and laboratory building, and also visited the new dormitories for 156 and 1200 places for students and teachers. A meeting was also held with both the deputy akim of the North Kazakhstan region Zhusup Zhumagulov and the leadership of our university.
"The University of Arizona is a strategic partner of Kozybayev University. Today, about 1,000 students are studying in joint educational programs. Here we see big potential for mutual cooperation. In addition, we also interact in the scientific field. Just last week, we agreed with the University of Arizona’s delegation that our region will allocate 500 hectares of land for joint scientific research that will increase the efficiency of our country’s agro-industrial complex. We will also involve our Chinese colleagues in this work within the framework of the trilateral memorandum. The result of this work will bear fruit in increasing the AIC," noted Zhusup Zhumagulov. Representatives of the American delegation spoke about the Arizona State Partnership Program and expressed interest in implementing joint projects in science and business as well as cultural exchange.
Billy Kovacs, Director of the Federal Affairs Department of the Arizona Governor's Office, said that the purpose of this visit was to get acquainted with North Kazakhstan Region and Kozybayev University. He also outlined areas that could help strengthen this partnership: relationships in the areas of commerce and trade, education, cultural ties, etc. The meeting participants exchanged memorabilia and voiced their intentions to continue the mutually beneficial partnership.
