History of the Faculty of Engineering and Digital Technologies
The history of the Faculty of Engineering and Digital Technologies is inextricably linked with the development of industrial production in the Northern region of Kazakhstan.
During the Great Patriotic War, part of the factories were evacuated from the European part of Russia to Petropavlovsk, on the basis of which the development of the industry of Northern Kazakhstan subsequently took place.
At the enterprises of the region, by the mid-50s, the output of the defense industry reached a significant share, which led to an increase in demand for relevant specialists with higher technical education.
As a result, in 1960, the Petropavlovsk General Technical Faculty of the Ural Polytechnic Institute (GTF UPI) was opened in Petropavlovsk.
In 1978, GTF UPI was transferred to the Karaganda Order of the Red Banner of Labor of the Polytechnic Institute (CarPTI).
In 1982, the General Technical Faculty became a branch of this institute.
In 1994, the Higher Technical College at the North Kazakhstan University was opened on the basis of the branch.
In 1996, the North Kazakhstan University and the Higher Technical College merged into a single educational institution.
Since then, the Faculty of Engineering and Digital Technologies has undergone a number of reorganizations due to the general modernization of the university structure, as well as the opening of new sought-after specialties.
At the moment, the faculty consists of four departments that conduct educational and research work at a high quality level. This is facilitated by the availability of a modern material and technical base, highly qualified teachers. The faculty trains bachelors, masters and PhD doctors.
The students and teachers of the faculty are proud to fulfill the mission of the university, thanks to which the faculty is a center of scientific ideas and developments.
