From 4 to 8 February 2019, the working group of the project TRUNAK "Transition to University Autonomy in Kazakhstan" ("Transition to University autonomy in Kazakhstan") within the framework of the Erasmus + program took part in an international seminar held at Lund University (Lund, Sweden).
Representatives of five Kazakh universities, universities of Sweden, Italy, Slovenia and Finland together with experts of the European Association of Universities from France and the UK discussed alternative models of autonomy of Kazakh universities in the context of the main four aspects of University activities. NKSU was represented by rector of the University Omirbayev Serik and the Head of the "Foreign languages" Department Irina Olkova. As a result of productive joint work, recommendations were developed to change the elements of the higher education system of Kazakhstan to ensure academic, personnel, organizational and financial autonomy in order to improve the quality and competitiveness of educational programs of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
