Congratulations to Elena Il!

The intellectual and research potential of the faculty of Kozybayev University continues to grow! Elena Il, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Food Safety, has been awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Veterinary Sciences.

Elena Nikolaevna successfully defended her dissertation at the Chuvash State Agrarian University (Russian Federation). In her research, she conducted a veterinary and sanitary assessment of the quality and safety of milk in high-yield dairy cows with subclinical ketosis. For the first time under production conditions, a scheme for the use of a комплекс of feed additives for the prevention of this condition in cattle was tested and implemented. A relationship between metabolic processes and the organoleptic, physico-chemical indicators and chemical composition of milk was identified.

Worldwide, with the growing consumption of dairy products and increasing quality requirements, maintaining the health and productivity of livestock has become a key factor for the sustainable development of animal husbandry. High-yield cows are often prone to metabolic disorders such as subclinical ketosis, which significantly reduces their productivity and increases the risk of disease. Establishing the link between ketosis and milk quality helps in developing strategies for the prevention and treatment of this condition in cows and improves the quality and safety of dairy products.

As a result of the research, a Eurasian patent for an invention was obtained (composition of the feed additive “Premix for Dairy Cattle” and confirmation of its effectiveness in preventing subclinical ketosis), as well as a copyright certificate of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Based on the dissertation materials, 16 scientific articles were published, including in journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus.

For our region, where the agricultural sector has strategic importance, this research is especially relevant and contributes to increasing production efficiency and the economic sustainability of livestock enterprises.
