Intellectual battle

As part of the implementation of the concept to promote the ideology of “Law and Order,” the “Vigor and Health” Spartakiad is continuing. Today, chess competitions were held among faculty members and university staff. Ten teams with a total of 36 participants competed in the tournament. The competitions took place in an atmosphere of intense intellectual sporting rivalry and mutual respect.

According to the team standings, the prize places were distributed as follows:
1st place – Faculty of Medicine
2nd place – Pedagogical Faculty 
3rd place – Faculty of History, Economics and Law

In the individual standings, first place was won by Albina Aizherkenova and Bakhtiyar Serik.

The organizers noted the high level of preparation of the chess players, strong interest in this sport, and the active participation of university staff and faculty in the university’s спортив life. It is especially worth noting that chess is a sport accessible to people of all ages and categories, which was once again confirmed by the games of the respected aksakals of the university.

The oldest participant of the competition was Professor Viktor Tulaev, who is 85 years old. His participation became a vivid symbol of generational continuity and an undiminished interest in intellectual sport, as well as an example of active longevity, dedication to sport, and university traditions.
