For the first time I've heard the melodious tinkling of medals. Combination of gold, silver and bronze sounds are especially good. And medals of exactly this dignity got the majority of our athletes who participated in the III Winter Universiade among students in Kazakhstan.

The awarding ceremony proved once again: we've got something to be proud of - 8 sets of gold, 6 silver and 14 sets of bronze medals. And a stand of Physical Training Faculty will be decorated with 8 more goblets.

Proud of the athletes were read in the eyes of everyone, but a special brilliance among coaches Alexander Naumov, Andrei Glyvyak, Alexander Vasilyev, Janat Turmakova, Dmitry Kuzmenko - the true fans of their business. After all the victory of every athlete - this is their victory.

The organizer of the competition was East Kazakhstan. They were held in cities Reeder and Ust-Kamenogorsk in such kinds of sports as: Presidential Around among boys and girls, weight-lifting, arm wrestling, orienteering, biathlon, skiing. Our athletes showed excellent results, general team occupying the third place among 27 schools that participated in the Universiade. Severokazahstantsy lost only to the East-Kazakhstan State University. S. Amanzholov (1 seat) and East-Kazakhstan Technical University. Serikbaev (2 place).

"One of the main reasons that we lost to the owners - a mountainous terrain, to which we, the steppe inhabitants, are not used to" - says Michael Yatskevich, a student at the Faculty of Information Technology, winner of three medals: gold - in the winter all-round team championship , a silver - in the biathlon relay and a bronze - in the team competition for ski racing.
