17.01.10 - This week our University was visited .

This week our University was visited by Nadezhda Chekalyova, the pro-rector of the Office of the head of Studies of Omsk State Pedagogical University, Galina P.Sinicyna, the Director of MA training Center, and Sergei Shirobokov, the Director of International Cooperation and Academic Mobility Center.

In accordance with the bilateral cooperation 36 teachers of NKSU are currently studying at Omsk State Pedagogical University to get MA degree in Pedagogy (paying tuition). The advantage of the above-mentioned cooperation is that our teachers do not have to go to Omsk very often. On the contrary teachers of Omsk State Pedagogical University arrive in Petropavlovsk themselves to read lectures. This time lectures were read by S. Shirobokov. Whereas, G. Sinicyna has come to open the third session of postgraduates.

The guests were taken on the excursion around our University. The excursion began with the visit of the University’s Astrophysical Center, the place where future astronomers have classes and local scientists carry out different researches. Later they visited Educational-sports Center with a swimming-pool and Medical Center, the most remarkable feature of which is up-to-date equipment, highly-qualified specialists, and free medical service for the University’s staff and students. The guests were greatly impressed by the physiotherapy room of the Medical Center. Moreover, in educational building 10 they visited Design Department as well.

As the guests said most of all they liked the University’s library that includes a reading-hall for teachers, separate library provided with literature in the Kazakh Language, and electronic catalogue. The library fund of the University was enlarged with one more book the author of which is Nadezhda Chekalyova.

The quests appreciated the high technical equipment and innovative technologies of the University. In addition, they extremely got interested in the idea of electronic university administration and decided to try implementing it in their own University. At the end of their visit the guests took part in the discussion called ‘Departments’ Innovative Activities in Conditions of Reforms of Education System’. There are a lot of questions and problems that interest both universities and this fact defines a great variety of opportunities for the development of further cooperation.
