| 22.11.09 - Selfmanagement Day. |
Last week Students’ Selfmanagement Days dedicated to International Student’s Day were held at the University. Those days students could experience the uneasy work of tutors, department chairmen, and what is more some of them had a chance to play deans’ roles.
Language and Literature Institute suggested its own version of organising Selfmanagement Day – it was not just a day, but some days held within the period November, 17-20. During those days the following events took place at the Institute: Students’ Actions including raids, watches in building 3, in the canteen, in the reading-hall of building 2. Students maintained the work to elicit breach of behavour rules at the University not abusing and blaming students, but giving them leaflets ‘Student’s guide-leaflet’ that is a know-how of the Institute Leaders Students.
Furthermore, the students orginised the meeting called ‘Activation of Students’ Selfconsciousness’ for first-year students, where senior students congratulated juniors on the holiday, and the discussion ‘Secrets of Interaction’ for students and teachers, where amazing facts about teachers – students communication evoked an eager interest of representatives of both sides. The participants learned a lot about the languge of gestures and movements, that took the most time of the discussion as this kind of language takes 70% of people’ interaction. The students responsible for the discussion showed the audience a series of the film called ‘Cheat Me’, the main character of which explained the importance of facial expression in the process of interaction.Students and teachers took an active part in the discussion and the play, that helped them understand how it is vital to listen to your interlocuter.
