In October, 13 in honour of 75-year history of Kazakh National Univrsity named after Al-Farabi the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan A. Nazarbayev read a lecture that was important for all students of the country. The President’s performance was broadcast in all high educational institutes of the country. 50,000 people and the students of NKSU as well listened to the President.

In his speech N. Nazarbayev gave a full and minute analysis of the country’s current development, forecast of world economy and politics. The Presedent paid an essential attention to education and science, aiming people at the fact that progressive science will promote the innovative development of our country. To be competetive, to create an intellectual nation 2020 are today’s goals of the utmost importance. Such a society will develop the State and will be its supporter in future.

The students listened to the Head of the State with an inspiration and it seemed that we were in a lecturehall of KazNU. Dilayra Seidakhmetova (second-year student, Journalism) shared her impressions on that occasion ‘I have been convinced once more that N.Nazarbayev is an open, sincere person with a good sense of humour’.

The President mentioned in his speech one aphorism that, to his mind, should be a motto of the contemporary young people ‘Never give up beginning, never begin giving up’. ‘Go in for science, you are Kazakhstan’s future. The educated society that always goes ahead will help to achieve set up goals’ the President said addressing to students.
