Last week a group of outstanding students from underprivileged families as well as those taking an active part in social life made a journey to Astana where they visited the sights and interesting places of the young capital: extraordinary buildings, monuments, the Ishim river embankment, parks and palace-like structures. One of these wonderful buildings is the hotel complex built in accordance with Chinese style. The students also visited Historical Memorial Complex “Kazakh Yeli” and Baiterec which was erected on the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev. The journey was arranged by the University Administration as well as by the tourist agency “Progress”. There were 80 students in the group.

Another group of 80 students went on an excursion to historical places of Iyirtau rayon of the North Kazakhstan oblast. Firstly they visited the Memorial Complex to Karasai and Agyntai batyrs founded in 1999. Then the group visited Historical-Ethnographical Museum named after Chokhan Valikhanov . Besides they visited the estate of Chokhan Valikhanov’s grandmother Aiganym.
