The History of Faculty
The Faculty of Music and Pedagogics was founded in 1978.
Among first first specialties were "Music and Singing", "Pedagogics and Methodology of Primary Education". There were 2 chairs: the Chair of Pedagogics and Methodology of Primary Education and the Chair of Musical Disciplines. The first dean of the faculty was Candidate of Pedagogics M.T. Dzyuba who has headed the faculty for 10 years and could unite students and teachers. The idea of students' self-government became the trademark of the Faculty of
Music and Pedagogics. The secretary of bureau V.A. Kim and A.F. Shkurko, the head of faculty trade union, gave a great help them. M.T. Dzyuba could increase equipment of faculty and founded 2 orchestras: brass band and folk orchestra. N.V. Divinskaya helped her in it.
A post-graduate from Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Chaikovsky, Candidate of Art, A.Ye. Slezko came to Petropavlovsk in 1988 and was appointed to the position of dean of the Faculty of Music and Pedagogics. His creative activity and his great love to music defined priorities in the organization of teaching process – the development of singing culture of future music teachers, their professional competence. Multi-genre work of students at the Chair of Musical Disciplines made a valuable contribution to the cultural life of the University. Among them were performances of students choir (50 members), solo of pianists and others. Four new specialties were founded during 2000-2001: "Pedagogics and Methodology of Preschool Education and Teaching", "Pedagogics and Psychology", "Speech Pathology", "Social Pedagogics".
From September 2002, a post-graduate from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Petropavlovsk Institute named after K.D. Ushinsky – N.I. Pustovalova – headed the Faculty. In 2005 she defended Candidate's dissertation. N.I. Pustovalova is a member of Republican Teaching and Methodological Association on Preschool Education and Teaching by Kazakh Women Pedagogical University in Almaty, a member of editorial board of magazine "12-years-education". She cooperates with the Republican scientific-practical Center "12-letka" and "Uchebnik".
In 2003, the Faculty of Music and Pedagogics was headed by A.Zh. Murzalinova – Doctor of Pedagogics, a post-graduate from the Faculty of History and Philology of Petropavlovsk Pedagogical Institute named after K.D. Ushinsky.
Candidate of Physico-Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor, B.Ye. Batyrov, a post-graduate from the University named after P. Lumumba was appointed as a dean of the Faculty of Music and Pedagogics in November 2004. He defended successfully a thesis as an applicant for Candidate of Physico-Mathematical Sciences Degree in 1993 and has more than 40 scientific publications. Nowadays great changes are being held under the leadership of N.I. Pustovalova who has been the head of the Faculty since September 2006.
There are 7 specialties at the Faculty of Music and Pedagogics. More than 2000 students are taught at the Faculty. The teaching staff consists of 147 teachers among them 20 Associate Professors and Candidates of Sciences, 2 Honoured Art Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Senior teachers Z.M. Tyncharova, N.M. Tukachyova, N.I. Volkova got Master's Degree. |
